Wisconsin
Private Equity Club
Who We Are
Wisconsin Private Equity Club (WPEC) is a student organization with the goal of enabling students to learn about Private Equity and explore how to pursue a career in Private Equity. WPEC operates through two main opportunities:
-
Interactive Deal Experience: One of the most effective ways to learn and grow comes from real-world application of concepts. Through this Club, members will collaborate on projects that will allow them to apply their knowledge and present their findings to industry professionals.
-
Speaker Events: WPEC values speaker events as they provide opportunities for students to connect and learn from industry professionals. These events provide invaluable insight into the everyday flow of the industry and the speakers' thought process on how they conduct business.
In addition to these opportunities, WPEC will also guide students as they through further training sessions on the inner-working of the Private Equity industry along with additional support as students continue to build their network.
Our Story
The Wisconsin Private Equity Club was founded in 2024 by Matthew Shapiro (WSB '25) and Kyle Connor (WSB '26). WPEC is an officially registered student organization with the Wisconsin School of Business. Our mission is to help students interested in the Private Equity industry learn about their field and pursue their passion fully.
As students interested in Private Equity, Matthew and Kyle noticed a gap when it came to education and opportunities related to the PE field. Because of this gap, they were inspired to create WPEC as a place to provide resources and opportunities to other Badgers with similar passion. Supported by Wisconsin School of Business and Badger alumni Kyle and Matthew created WPEC with the vision to provide members hands-on experience while learning from industry experts.
