Experience Private Equity Investing Alongside Leading Industry Professional

Private Equity Case Competition

The Wisconsin Private Equity Club's annual case competition provides ample opportunities for students to apply business and financial analysis in first-hand, real-world private equity investments. Through participation and dialogue with industry experts, members expand their financial knowledge, foster meaningful relationships, and develop essential business skills and professional etiquette.

Teams of five will be tasked with analyzing a selection of companies and choosing one to pitch as their optimal investment opportunity. Each team will present their proposals to a panel of faculty judges, with the top three teams advancing to present their cases in person to industry professionals at the Private Capital Conference.

How to Participate

Each team has three different roles based on age and experience:

  • Principal (1 senior)

  • Vice President​ (2 juniors)

  • Associate (3 sophomores)

Application Process

Applications are now open! All applicants will submit a resume and complete the respective process for their year in school. Please click your respective grade to open the form.

Seniors (Principal)

  • Informal conversations with board based on resume

​​

Juniors (Vice President​)

  • Students will be sent a slide template and a company to create a one to two slide presentation covering business overview and investment thesis ideas

​

Sophomores (Associate)

  • Resume screening and informal interviews regarding private equity and business analysis (interviews will be casual conversations with the board)

Timeline

  • Applications open September 19th

  • Teams selected on October 1st

  • Mid-point check-in on October 18th

  • Final check in November 1st

  • Presentations to faculty board November 7th and 8th

  • Finalist present at the Private Capital Conference to alumni panel November 15th
